Plot
While trying to get a unique angle for pictures at a friend’s wedding, Jenine stumbles on an old Polaroid camera. She snaps a quick photo, puts the undeveloped print in her pocket and doesn’t look at it for the rest of the day. When she does, she sees more than wedding guests. Images of departed souls mingle among the living.
The more pictures she takes, the more ghosts she sees, and they don’t look happy. She has found a ghost camera, and the ghosts are hunting her.
My Thoughts
I enjoyed this story, and am glad the author decided to revise and reprint it. I haven’t read the original, so I can’t compare. It is a short novella. Perfect for a one sitting binge.
The characters were well written and concept was thrilling. A camera that lets you see ghosts? Sounds great. The pictures causing the ghosts to hunt you down? Terrifying.
The reprint includes several short stories, each unique and enjoyable. The whole collection brings me back to my childhood of reading the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark anthology.
Darcy Coates is one of those authors who I will buy each book as it is released. I discovered her a little over a year ago and am slowly reading through her list.
