Happy New Year – My Plans for 2025

Then end of 2024 was rough for me and my family. Loss and illness made me want to skip the holidays entirely and my posting suffered for it. With a new year ahead, I am committing to focus on this blog, posting regularly working to make it the best it can be. For this first post of the year, I wanted to outline my plans for how I will structure the blog going forward.

Short Stories and Fiction

Each Monday I will post a short story or work of fiction or fiction related content. This includes stand alone short stories, continuing the Meadow Lake series, the start of a new short story series, and a post about the history of a specific paranormal or horror trope. I have a lot of plans for the Meadow Lake series and want to keep that going. I also want to expand my writing skills through short stories, utilizing different POV, settings, tropes, and topics.

The paranormal and horror history series is something I am looking forward to. Ghost and monster stories have existed in society since our ancestors started telling stories around campfires. Where did vampires come from? What about werewolves? Zombies? Bigfoot? I want to find out and record that here.

Blog Posts

Each Wednesday I will post to the blog, like this. The posts will include reading inspiration, general life updates, reviews of horror movies and games, and anything else I feel like writing about that doesn’t fit in with short stories or book reviews. The majority of my posts will be horror and reading focused, but I do plan to include other things such as my garden and small home projects I have planned for the future.

Book Reviews

Fridays will be for book reviews. They will still be horror, but they won’t necessarily be new releases. I can only read so many books each week and I want to include past releases as well. After all, the horror genre has been around for a long time, and a book that’s been out for a couple decades will be a new story to someone.

Other Plans

Some additional goals I have include a weekly newsletter with a post recap and a discord server. These are both things I need to learn more about running and will likely not happen for a few months.
